The purpose of this study was to test performance of skill for golf pitching and learning effects of various combinations of internal and external focus feedback according to preference of learner. The subjects were 40 male university students selected among 80 according to experimental procedure. They were placed in I-I(internal-internal feedback) group, I-E(internal-external feedback) group, E-I(External-internal feedback) group, E-E(external-external feedback) group at random, 10 each group according to experimental condition. Experimental design had these independent variables such as preference, providing feedback, and block. Result score in the acquisition phase was resulted from mixed design of 2(preference)×2(feedback)×8(block) where block is repeatedly measured. Movement score was resulted from mixed design of 2(preference)×2(feedback)×4(block). In the retention test and transfer test, result score and movement score were all resulted from mixed design of 2(preference)×2(feedback)×2(block) where block is repeatedly measured here, independent variables are group and block. Dependent variables were result score and movement score.
The study results are as follows. 1) As a result of comprehensive conclusion based on analysis of result score, E-E group showed most excellent performance and learning effect. I-I group and I-E group showed nearly similar effect each other in performance and learning. On the other hand, it appeared that E-I group showed lowest performance and learning effect. 2) As a result of comprehensive conclusion based on analysis of movement score, E-E group showed most excellent performance and learning effect. I-I group and I-E group showed nearly similar effect each other in performance and learning. On the other hand, it appeared that E-I group showed lowest performance and learning effect.
