The purpose of study is to reduce the risk of injury caused by the unexpected release of energy or other hazard source from a belt conveyor system. Hazardous energy or hazard sources appear in the workplace in electrical, mechanical, gas, hydraulic equipment. etc. According to survey of South Korea Safety Institute, The death and injury tolls from belt conveyors have been recorded higher than the other field of facilities in South Korea. The major reason of the accidents surveyed during inspection, clean and maintenance. There are two kinds of primary safety procedures to prevent above mentioned accidents. One is LOTO (Lock out, Tag out) system, and the other is BOTO (Block out, Test out) system. The LOTO safety procedure has been well familiar with industry and actually adopted it for cut off electrical power source during maintenance. The accidents in belt conveyor systems will be decreasing accidents by installing safety device such as clamping, bolting and releasing pressure in accordance with BOTO procedure. This safety device which was designed will be applied to other belt conveyor systems to secure safety. The study will be ensured that the safety during work will be more enhanced by means of instolling the safety tool.
