Word formation and constituents are one of the primary research subjects of morphology. In this paper, we weighed eleven kinds of high school reading and grammar textbooks, with a particular focus on the word formation sections in the vocabulary segments. In the school curriculum, there has been a steady reduction in the information on word formation. For example, in the 2011 curriculum, the sections on morphemes were replaced with information on new word formation . However, if the proper understanding of Korean grammar involves explaining the notions of words and other word formation methods apart from compounding and derivation, new word concepts, and the relation between words and morphemes. In this study, we focused on the word formation process, including productivity, synchrony, and degree.
